A report from Bloomberg discusses copper’s price rebound after five days of drops, due to increasing optimism about the economic recovery. Today’s retail sales figures and remarks by Fed Chairman Bernanke that the recession may be over seem to have copper traders expecting an increase in demand.

Electricity as art
Photographic artist Hiroshi Sugimoto has posted a series of images titled “Lightning Fields” as a tribute to the pioneers in discovering the nature of electricity and means for its control. They look like lightning, but were made by apply high-voltage current directly to photographic plates.
