Lighting Science Group, Satellite Beach, Fla., signed a two-year deal last week with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to jointly develop LED lighting fixtures for use in space exploration.
The agreement calls for development of a lighting fixture prototype that provides high illumination and good color rendering while meeting the unique demands of space equipment and space travel including control, vibration, off-gassing, electromagnetic interference and other spacecraft issues.

PEPCO, Eastlake, Ohio, is moving into the Columbus market through a acquisition of Johnson Electric Supply’s branch there, according to a Nov. 17 article in the Columbus Business Journal. With $90 million in 2008 sales, PEPCO was ranked #84 in Electrical Wholesaling magazine’s most recent ranking of Top 200 electrical distributors.
