Halco Technologies (Norcross, Ga.): Sarah Kulesza was hired as marketing associate. She recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Mass Communications and a concentration in public relations. Kulesza will be reporting to Deby Forster, marketing manager, and contributing to the company’s business-to-business marketing operations.

EGS Electrical Group announces several promotions
EGS Electrical Group, (Rosemont, Ill.): Jean-Baptiste Trolle has been promoted to the position of V.P. of marketing and business development of the ECM business segment. Trolle has been with the EGS organization since its acquisition of ATX in 1998, serving the company in various sales and marketing roles. In this new role he will manage the Appleton and O-Z/Gedney product marketing team, the sales and marketing integration of the newly-acquired Nutsteel business, and the acquisition activity supporting EGS.
The company also announced several other promotions. Kerry Nedic has been promoted to the position of director, pricing and technical support; Jason Overbey is being promoted to director of marketing; and Dan Douglass is being promoted to director of marketing responsible for sales support and business development.
In other personnel changes at Emerson, Craig Morris has been promoted to the newly-created position of V.P., global accounts. Kevin Jacks, currently director of global accounts, will replace Morris as director of sales, Southwest Region.
Jim Gibson has been appointed to area manager, Canada for Appleton, O/Z-Gedney and SolaHD. A 15-year veteran of the electrical and automation industry, he joined EGS in 2005, and has held positions of ascending responsibility within SolaHD, most recently Northeast Region manager.
NEMA announces new board members
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), Rosslyn, Va., elected the following individuals to its board of governors during its recent annual meeting in Palm Beach, Florida: Susan Graham, Elantas PDG; Luis Ramirez, GE Energy; Kenan Sahin, TIAX; Gabriel Garza, Prolec; and Greg Sebasky, Philips Electronics North America.
Lunera taps Owyeung as CEO
Lunera Lighting, Inc., Redwood City, Calif., which designs, manufactures and markets LED lighting, announced that former Hewlett Packard and Lumileds executive Karen Owyeung has joined Lunera as its new CEO. Owyeung brings with her nearly 20 years of marketing, operations, and general management experience in the LED industry.
Owyeung began her career in LED technology at Hewlett Packard’s Optoelectronics Division. She held executive management positions in marketing and worldwide manufacturing operations prior to becoming the general manager of the division. While at HP she worked with industry leaders including Roland Haitz, famed for Haitz’s Law, to identify the opportunity for LED technology in commercial and residential lighting. Owyeung also was the architect behind the expanded joint venture of HP’s solid-state lighting division with Philips Lighting to form Lumileds.
Owyeung served on the Lumileds board and was named the first CEO of the expanded joint venture. She also served on the advisory board for Bridgelux, a Silicon Valley LED technology company. She holds a BSEE from Vanderbilt University and has completed advanced studies at Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
Spencer named VP of Distribution Sales at Universal Lighting Technologies
Universal Lighting Technologies, Nashville, is promoting Bruce Spencer to vice president, Distribution Sales, from his current position as senior director, Distribution Sales U.S. In his new role, Spencer will oversee the sale of all Universal and Vossloh-Schwabe products within the distribution channel throughout the United States. The change is in line with Universal’s strategic commitment to grow the current distribution channel, the company said.

Antonellis named VP, GM, at Baynes Electric Supply
Baynes Electric Supply Co.,Brockton, Mass., announced that Chris Antonellis has been promoted to vice president and general manager. Baynes Electric Supply is a 55-year old electrical wholesale distributor with locations in Brockton, Boston, Hyannis, Marthas Vineyard, Canton, Nantucket and Hanover, Mass., and Middletown, R.I.
Power/Mation appoints Gottschalk president and CEO
Power/Mation (St. Paul., Minn.): This automation distributor has appointed Jim Gottschalk as president and CEO, effective Oct. 18. Before coming to Power/mation, Mr. Gottschalk was V.P. in charge of the sales, engineering and manufacturing divisions at HESCO, an electrical automation distributor in Hartford, Ct. Prior to that he served 17 years in management at McNaughton-McKay Electric Co., Ford Motor Co. and Rockwell Automation. He has a B.S. in electrical engineering from Kettering University. in 1987.
Along with its St. Paul headquarters and offices in Alexandria, Duluth and Owatonna, Minn.; Power/mation has facilities in Wood Dale, Ill.; Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, Iowa; Wahpeton, N.D.; Omaha, Neb.; Sioux Falls, S.D.; and Waukesha, Neenah and Green Bay, Wis.
Summit names new managers in Texas
Summit Electric Supply, Albuquerque, named new managers for its branches in Dallas and Austin, Texas.
Former Austin Service Center Leader Mike Kizer has taken the reins at the company’s Dallas location. Kizer, an industry veteran with deep ties to the Dallas market, had been the Austin service center leader since August 2009. Prior to joining Summit, Kizer managed five locations in the Dallas area and has worked in the Texas market since 2001. He joined the industry first as a manufacturer’s representative in 1994 before transitioning to distribution in 1999.
Matt Darling will be taking charge of the company’s Austin branch. Darling, who joined Summit in February 2009 as an account manager, has a strong background in sales and inventory management. Darling began his career in the industry in 1998 and held various management positions, including as a district manager responsible for sales and inventory management at 10 warehouses from Atlanta, Ga., to California. From 2006-2008, he served as a corporate purchasing manager.
Rexel appoints Daniel Sr VP, GM
Rexel Inc., Dallas, named Mark Daniel senior vice president and general manager, with overall leadership responsibility for the U.S. organization. Daniel will now oversee “the continuing development of customer-focused support initiatives to accelerate the business’ growth and strengthen Rexel Inc.’s position as a premier U.S. electrical distributor,” the company said.
Daniel has held several leadership positions in Rexel Inc. and IESC, most recently as division dales president for Rexel, Inc., with responsibility for the South East Division field sales operations, including all branch operations, customer relations and division staff. He has also served as vice president sales and North East Division president for Rexel Inc. and as vice president New Business Development for IESC, with responsibility for the company’s U.S. acquisition strategy.

Drexler promoted to new executive post at A.O. Smith
A.O. Smith (Tipp City, Ohio): Daniel Drexler was named V.P. of international sales and general industries for this motor manufacturer. During his 24 years with the company he has held several executive posts. Drexeler has a BA in electrical engineering from Ohio University.
