Graybar Electric Co. (St. Louis): David Bender will be the company’s district V.P. for Seattle regional operations effective Nov. 1. Bender will replace Ken Sparks, who will be retiring after 42 years with the company. Bender started his career with Graybar in 1988 and has served in a broad range of sales and management roles, most recently as director of comm/data sales in the company’s California district. He holds a BS in business administration from West Virginia University.

Fulham names Hood OEM sales manager for South Central region
Fulham Co. Inc. (Hawthorne, Calif.): The company recently appointed Mark Hood as OEM sales manager for the South Central region. Hood will be responsible for managing Fulham’s OEM business in the following states: Texas, Arizona, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Colorado, Arkansas, New Mexico, Arizona and a portion of California. He has more than 19 years experience in lighting, has served as a voting member in NEMA’s Ballast and Lighting Systems Division, and most recently held the position of national accounts manager for Robertson Worldwide, where he was responsible for all of the southern and western United States.
Leviton promotes Dabbicco, LaMontagne & Weigand
Leviton Manufacturing Co. Inc. (Melville, N.Y.): Gino Dabbicco has been appointed North East regional sales manager for Leviton’s Distribution Sales Division. In his career of almost 30 years with Leviton, Dabbicco has held a series of key positions in sales and marketing, including corporate director of marketing; national director of sales for the Connected Home initiative; marketing director for the Residential Business Unit; commercial marketing manager; Distribution Sales Representative; supply chain supervisor; and inside sales representative. He holds a BS degree in communications from St. John’s University.
In another appointment, John LaMontagne is now director of specification sales for the company’s Lighting Management Systems business. In his new post LaMontagne will lead the company’s Technical Sales team to drive product sales through architects, lighting designers, design engineers and other members of the specification community.
LaMontagne began his career with Leviton in 1994 as a specification engineer for the Distribution Sales group, and over the past sixteen years also served as the Northeast regional sales manager for Distribution; Eastern region manager for National Accounts; national corporate training manager and Northeast regional manager for Lighting Management Systems. Prior to joining Leviton he had extensive experience working for a New England electrical contracting firm. He holds a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Rhode Island.
Leviton is also pleased to announce the appointment of David Weigand to the position of Northwest regional sales manager for the company’s Lighting Management Systems business. In his new post, Weigand will focus on expanding the market for Leviton’s integrated line of lighting energy management products throughout the Northwest region. Weigand began his career with Leviton as a product manager for the company’s lighting management systems business and was named national accounts manager in 2008. Before joining Leviton, he worked as manager of lighting and electrical standards for the Starbucks Coffee chain, where he developed standards for energy efficiency and created lighted environments that enhanced customer satisfaction. During his 30-year career, he has also worked in the lighting consulting, contracting and commercial construction industries, in addition to the public utility sector, where he established energy incentive programs for Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, Washington Water Power and the Bonneville Power Administration. Weigand holds a BS in Eelctrical engineering from Portland State University.
Saffer promoted to V.P. of sales at United Electric Supply
United Electric Supply Co., (New Castle, Del.): Joseph Saffer is now V.P. of sales for the Maryland-DC-Virginia. He joined United in December 2009 and has held senior sales management positions with Summit Electric Supply, World Electric Supply (Sonepar), Hughes Supply and Graybar Electric. Saffer earned a BS degree in political science and psychology from Jacksonville University.
Kamper to Succeed Müller at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors
OSRAM Opto Semiconductors (Sunnyvale, Calif.): As of Oct. 1, Aldo Kamper is succeeding Dr. Rüdiger Müller who, after heading the optoelectronic semiconductor business for 22 years at OSRAM and formerly at Siemens, is retiring. Kamper started his professional career at OSRAM in 1994 and between 1999 and 2006 held executive positions at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in the fields of automotive and visible LEDs. Since 2006, he has held the post of executive V.P. and general manager, Specialty Lighting at OSRAM Sylvania in the U.S.
Westinghouse Appoints Broughton National Utility Program Manager
Westinghouse Lighting Corp. (Philadelphia): John Broughton has been appointed national utility program manager. He comes to Westinghouse with more than ten years of experience in the utility arena and has worked directly with D&R International, the Department of Energy and MaxLight. Broughton will be responsible for administering and promoting utility incentive programs with Westinghouse Lighting’s customer base in retail, commercial and industrial channels.
Rochford named V.P., Energy Efficiency, Sustainability and Public Policy for Legrand North America
Legrand, West Hartford, Conn., announced the appointment of Susan Rochford as vice president, Energy Efficiency, Sustainability and Public Policy, for Legrand North America. Rochford will be responsible for advancing Legrand North America’s progress in setting and achieving sustainability goals and commitments, as an organization and in the marketplace. In this capacity she will work closely with all the Legrand North America entities to identify, design and deliver sustainable products and solutions to meet the needs of the customers they serve.

Leviton appoints Carrella and Weinberg to Marketing Posts
Leviton Manufacturing Co. Inc (Melville, N.Y.): The company recently announced two appointments: Chris Carrella is now director of technology for distribution marketing and sales and Jeffrey Weinberg is Southwest Regional Sales Manager for the company’s Lighting Management Systems. In his new role, Carrella will lead the implementation of cost-effective technology solutions to support Leviton’s customer-centric marketing and sales initiatives. In He has held various previous IT positions at at the company. Before joining Leviton, he held a variety of positions in the information technology field with Cablevision, Publishers Clearing House and Chase Auto Finance. He holds a BA in business administration from C.W. Post College.
In his new post, Jeffrey Weinberg will lead the expansion of the company’s energy-management systems throughout the Pacific Southwest. He began his career with the company in 1997 as a sales representative for American Insulated Wire (AIW), a Leviton subsidiary, and later went on to represent Leviton’s OEM solutions business where he grew lampholder revenue in the hydroponic industry and increase sales of the company’s GFCI devices and wireless lighting and appliance control products. Weinberg holds a BS in communications from the University of Arizona.
Michigan’s Lighting Supply Co. Hires McIntosh as Sales Manager
Lighting Supply Co. (Ferndale, Mich.): Matt McIntosh was recently appointed sales manager and will be responsible for driving the company’s strategic sales growth through value-added services, product expansion and alignment with energy-saving programs that offer incentives for lighting upgrades. Prior to joining Lighting Supply Company, McIntosh spent five years in Branch Sales and Management with Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED). He has a BA degree in sales and business marketing from Western Michigan University.
Hunter Joins Luminus Devices
Luminus Devices Inc. (Billerica, Mass.): Jim Hunter has joined the company as vice president and general manager, global commercial markets. Hunter will be responsible for increasing Luminus’ presence in the general lighting, ultra-violet (UV) and display lighting markets. Hunter joins Luminus from Philips Lighting North America where as vice president of marketing for the company and area marketing officer for Philips North America, Hunter managed a team of 70 marketers split between channel marketing, marketing communications, market intelligence and pricing.
