Nicor Appoints VP Sales Co. to Cover Ohio

Nicor Inc., Albuquerque, N.M., has appointed VP Sales Co., Westlake, Ohio, to cover Ohio. Thomas Petty, president of VP Sales, will be responsible for the sales and brand positioning of Nicor I products in Ohio. In other news at Nicor, Kennedy Williams has joined the company as marketing coordinator/graphic designer.

Obituary: Ray Martin of Martin Electrical Sales

Raymond M. Martin Jr., founder of Martin Electrical Sales, Kirkwood, Mo., passed away on Feb. 25. Husband of the late Elaine Martin (Bauer), he is survived by daughters Nancy Martin, president of the agency, Susan Sinclair, and Liz Rowland; son Nick Martin; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother. Services were held March 1. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Burbridge Named President & CEO at Crescent Electric Supply

Crescent Electric Supply (East Dubuque, Ill.): Martin Burbridge was promoted to president and CEO, Formerly company president, Burbridge is the fifth president and fourth CEO of the 90-year-old firm. He started with the company in 1978 and since then held a number of executive posts.

Graybar promotes veterans Offenbacher and Mazzarella

Graybar, St. Louis, announced the appointments of Richard D. Offenbacher to senior vice president – U.S. business and Kathleen M. Mazzarella to senior vice president – sales and marketing. Both Offenbacher and Mazzarella also serve on Graybar’s Board of Directors.

Offenbacher, a Graybar veteran of nearly 42 years, will oversee Graybar’s field organization within the United States, along with its corporate accounts and government business. He most recently served as senior VP – sales and marketing for Graybar’s electrical business.

Mazzarella has 30 years of Graybar experience and most recently served as senior VP – sales and marketing, Comm/Data. In her newly expanded role, she has responsibility for Graybar’s entire sales and marketing organization.

These appointments follow the recent retirement of Dennis E. DeSousa as senior VP – U.S. business.

KNIPEX Hires Booth and Jozwik

KNIPEX-Tools (Arlington Heights, Ill.): Randall Booth has joined the company as sales manager and will be responsible for all traditional distribution sales in the eastern United States and Puerto Rico. He is also the key account representative for major accounts headquartered in that geographic region. He joins KNIPEX from Minerallac, where he served as the Southeast regional manager since 2006. Prior to joining Minerallac, Booth was sales manager at Hughes Supply Inc. and held positions at Klein Tools, Robert Bosch Tool Corp. and AEG Power Tools. Also joining the company is Julie Jozwik, who will be working in sales and marketing at KNIPEX and will offer support to the extended sales team, develop social media plans and platforms, and facilitate advertising and public relations initiatives. She comes to the company from Motorola’s Mobile Devices Division where she served as a marketing manager.

McAllister Takes Executive Sales Post with ComCables

ComCables (Denver): Tom McAllister is now with the company as director of sales, manufacturing. His responsibilities will include developing an independent rep team and creating a channel partner program. McAllister comes to comCables from an independent low-voltage solutions rep firm where he served as president. During his 30 years in the low-voltage cable industry he served as the regional V.P. with Holocom Networks, as well as in various sales management roles within the cable manufacturing industry. ComCables is a manufacturer of structured cabling solutions.

Electrotech Hires Lynch to Bolster Business in Utility Market

Electrotech, an independent manufacturers’ rep based in Minneapolis, has hired Jim Lynch as the new Wisconsin territory utility account manager. He will be responsible for managing utility accounts in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. For the first seven years of his career, Lynch managed accounts in the commercial industrial marketplaces. He came to the electric utility industry in 1997 and spent the following thirteen years successfully managing utility accounts in this same territory for another firm He is a longstanding officer of the Wisconsin Utility Suppliers Association, and is involved with the Electrical Equipment Representatives Association (EERA). He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Cramer Takes Executive Post at Magnetek

Magnetek, Inc. (Menomonee Falls, Wis.): Scott S. Cramer was appointed V.P., general counsel and corporate secretary. He succeeds V.P. of Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary Jolene Shellman, who is retiring from the company. Cramer has served as general counsel for publicly held firms worldwide, including Bucyrus International, Regal Beloit and Superior Services. He holds a B.A. in political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder, a M.S. in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center.

WESCO exec announces run for Congress

Brian J. Herr, an executive with WESCO Distribution Inc. who is also chairman of the Hopkinton, Mass., Board of Selectmen, said he will seek the Republican nomination for Congress from the Massachusetts’ 3rd District, joining several possible challengers to sitting U.S. Rep. James P. McGovern, the Telegram (Worcester, Mass.) reported today.
According to the Telegram, Herr said he hopes to bring his business background to bear on national policies if elected. “The more private-sector thinking we can impart in the public sector the better off we will be,” he said of his approach to problems facing government.
Herr, a Pittsburgh native, has an engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in government from Harvard University.

Ansell names Kokoszka to marketing team

Ansell Protective Products Inc., Red Bank, N.J., appointed Jason Kokoszka assistant market development manager. He will assist in the development of marketing and sales efforts for Ansell North Americas Occupational division. Before joining Ansell, Kokoszka worked as the marketing research manager for Meredith Corp. Most recently, he was the strategic marketing manager for Centex Homes. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Villanova University.
