Knipex promotes Schumate to North America sales manager

Knipex-Tools (Arlington Heights, Ill.): Todd Shumate has been promoted to North America sales manager and will have responsibility for all of Canada as well as management of the wholesale-distribution channel throughout North America. Prior to joining Knipex in December 2008, Shumate was regional sales manager at Minerallac/Cully, where he managed independent representative agencies and developed territory sales goals and objectives to maximize market penetration. He also held regional sales manager roles at Progress Lighting/Hubbell Lighting and Klein Tools, Inc., as well as managerial positions at Dalloz Safety and Chase Ergonomics Inc.
Electrical contractor IES names new exec for residential division
Integrated Electrical Services, Inc. (Houston): Richard Nix will step aside as group V.P., IES Residential and assume an operational role in that segment’s East Coast region, effective July 1. Dwayne Collier, currently IES’ V.P. of operations, Single-family Divisions, will succeed Nix and assume the position of group V.P., IES Residential on July 1. Collier has been at IES for almost 20 years, serving in various management positions in the residential business. He will also continue to lead the company’s single-family operations.
Matsueda joins Fulham as marketing director
Fulham Co. Inc. (Hawthorne, Calif.): Jay Matsueda is now director of marketing and will be responsible for product launches, sales support, public relations, promotions, collateral development, packaging enhancements, research and related marketing and advertising functions. His lighting market experience includes marketing positions with Greenlite, Feit and Energetic, and his prior agency experience includes account supervision with Miller Group, Dentsu and Cimarron. Matsueda holds a degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
Reel-O-Matic appoints Schmerheim V.P. of sales
Reel-O-Matic (Oklahoma City, Okla.): Bill Schmerheim has been appointed V.P. of sales. He has helped distributors with their reel and cable handling needs for the past 15 years and was previously employed at Wemco.
Sokoll now president of HWCC’s Southern Wire
Houston Wire & Cable (HWCC) (Houston): Southern Wire, a division of Houston Wire & Cable Co. (HWCC), has appointed Chris Sokoll president. A 21-year HWCC veteran, Sokoll has worked as an inside salesperson, branch manager, regional manager and regional vice president for HWCC before being appointed Southern Wire’s president. He holds a Bachelor’s of Professional Studies degree in Organizational Leadership from Roosevelt University in Chicago and a Certificate in Executive Finance from the University of Chicago.
Renouard to lead Cree global sales
LED lighting manufacturer Cree, Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE), Durham, N.C., said Bruce Renouard has joined the company as senior vice president – sales and business development, effective March 21. In this newly created position, Renouard will be responsible for sales of LED chips, LED components, materials and power and RF components. Renouard comes to Cree after nine years at Power Integration Corp., where he served as vice president of worldwide sales.

Former Hoffman Enclosures president joins McNaughton-McKay’s board of directors
McNaughton-McKay (Madison Heights, Mich.): Del Nickel, retired president of Pentair Technical Products (Hoffman Enclosures), has taken a seat on McNaughton-McKay’s board of directors. Nickel is a 41-year-veteran of the electrical industry. He spent 23+ years with Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) and the next 17 years with Hoffman Enclosures.
New CEO at GE Lighting
GE Home & Business Solutions (Fairfield Conn): Maryrose Sylvester has been named president and CEO of GE Lighting. She is a 23-year GE veteran, 14 years of which were spent at GE Lighting. Most recently at GE she led GE Intelligent Platforms, a global provider of software, hardware, services and expertise in automation and embedded computing. During her previous tenure at GE Lighting, she held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility including president and CEO of GE Lighting Systems, general manager of worldwide sourcing and director of sourcing for GE Lighting Europe, based in Budapest, Hungary. Sylvester succeeds Michael Petras who has led GE Lighting since 2008 and is leaving GE to take a position at HGI Global Holdings, Inc., a provider of specialty medical products to chronic disease patients. She will report to James P. Campbell, president & CEO, GE Appliances & Lighting.
Ideal appoints Teipel as Western regional sales manager
Ideal Industries (Sycamore, Ill.): Adam Teipel is now regional sales manager for the company’s Western electrical sales organization. Teipel joins Ideal after having served in sales management positions at Accurate Metal Fabricators and Phoenix Contact, Inc. He will report to Joe Saganowich, Ideal’s V.P. of sales and marketing. Teipel has a M.S. e degree from North Texas University and a B.S. degree from Northeast Missouri State University.
