Nicor Appoints VP Sales Co. to Cover Ohio
Nicor Inc., Albuquerque, N.M., has appointed VP Sales Co., Westlake, Ohio, to cover Ohio. Thomas Petty, president of VP Sales, will be responsible for the sales and brand positioning of Nicor I products in Ohio. In other news at Nicor, Kennedy Williams has joined the company as marketing coordinator/graphic designer.
Obituary: Ray Martin of Martin Electrical Sales
Raymond M. Martin Jr., founder of Martin Electrical Sales, Kirkwood, Mo., passed away on Feb. 25. Husband of the late Elaine Martin (Bauer), he is survived by daughters Nancy Martin, president of the agency, Susan Sinclair, and Liz Rowland; son Nick Martin; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother. Services were held March 1. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Electrotech Hires Lynch to Bolster Business in Utility Market
Electrotech, an independent manufacturers’ rep based in Minneapolis, has hired Jim Lynch as the new Wisconsin territory utility account manager. He will be responsible for managing utility accounts in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. For the first seven years of his career, Lynch managed accounts in the commercial industrial marketplaces. He came to the electric utility industry in 1997 and spent the following thirteen years successfully managing utility accounts in this same territory for another firm He is a longstanding officer of the Wisconsin Utility Suppliers Association, and is involved with the Electrical Equipment Representatives Association (EERA). He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Electrical Wholesaling magazine Names GEM Award Winners
At the National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA) national conference held last week in New York, Electrical Wholesaling magazine named its 2010 GEM Award Winners for independent representatives. Mike Gorin of Atlanta’s Gorin Hopper McCoy won the GEM Award and Mike Cuddy of Renaissance Electrical Marketing Inc. (Renmark), Pittsburgh, won the GEM Rising Star Award.
Cooper Power Systems Names New Reps in Upper Midwest and Arizona
Cooper Power Systems, Wauskesha, Wis., has awarded commercial and industrial sales representation to Electrotech Inc., Minneapolis and Apex Electrical Sales, Phoenix.
Cooper’s agreement with Electrotech covers territories throughout South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Electrotech also represents Cooper B-line, Crouse Hinds and the Cooper Lighting Streetworks division, while Apex Electrical Sales also represents B-Line, Bussmann, Crouse Hinds, Edison Fuses, and Cooper Wiring Devices.
Formed in 2002, Apex Electrical Sales covers Arizona and southern Nevada. Electrotech has served the Minneapolis and Upper Midwest markets since 1961.
Robert A. Amey Co. to rep Klein Tools in Pacific Northwest
The Robert A. Amey Co., Portland, Ore., will represent Klein Tools in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington effective February 1, 2010. The company will promote Klein products through authorized wholesale electrical distributors to electrical end users throughout their sales geography.
